RV Road Trip Planning

Most trip planners assume you're sleeping in hotels and flying between cities. In an RV, neither is true. You're driving the trip yourself, sleeping in the vehicle, and looking for places to park with electric, water, and sewer hookups.

NovaXplora's RV mode extension to the Road Trip capability plans around that.

RV mode follows your vehicle

Set your plan's vehicle to your RV and RV mode turns on automatically. The Driving tab picks it up, day-break lodging suggestions switch from hotels to campgrounds, and the Add Lodging picker gets a new "Campgrounds & RV" group with campgrounds, RV parks, and state-park campsites. Plan's have individual control as well, so selecting a vehicle doesn't restrict your planning abilities. Choose maximum mileage or hours per day for each trip individually, and turn on pet-friendly options for one trip but not another.

Filter by the hookups you need

Four amenity filters in the Driving tab:

• Electric. Shore power instead of running a generator.
• Water. Drinking-water hookup or a fill point on site.
• Sewer / dump station. A full sewer pad or a place to empty the tank.
• Pet-friendly. Campgrounds that allow dogs.

Turn on the ones your rig needs and campground suggestions filter to match. Each result card shows badges for the amenities a campground offers, so you can see what's available before adding it to the plan.

Daily driving limits matter more in an RV

RVs are slower than cars and stop more often for fuel. Daily driving limits — maximum hours and maximum distance — are useful on any road trip and more important in an RV. Set them once and NovaXplora uses them whenever it plans or re-optimizes the route.

When a leg is too long for one day, NovaXplora suggests an overnight stop. In RV mode the suggestion is a campground that matches your amenity filters, not a hotel. The result cards show the available amenities so you can pick one that fits without leaving the app.

Travel with pets, RV or not

There's a separate plan-wide "Travel with pets" preference. Turn it on and hotel suggestions filter to pet-friendly options too, not only campgrounds. When you search for a campground from the Add Lodging modal, the pet-friendly filter is pre-checked based on this preference.

Find campgrounds without leaving the plan

The Add Lodging modal has a built-in campground search. Pick a property type — Campground, RV Park, or State Park Campsite — and search near the day's destination or a city of your choice. Each result shows its amenity badges. Selecting one fills in the name, address, coordinates, and amenities for you.

Same map, same itinerary, on the road

On the road, NovaXplora's mobile view shows your plan with large touch targets, a collapsible header, and the next stop one tap away. Hand off a leg to Google Maps for live traffic and lane guidance, or use NovaXplora's built-in turn-by-turn directions.
